WWDC 2007!

Post by shadowkhas »

The glorious appearance of our savior Steven Jobs is upon us! Let us rejoice in his coming!

...um, yeah. Anyway. http://www.macrumorslive.com/ Is your best place to get info on WWDC as it happens. WWDC is Apple's second-a-year regular conference, oriented more towards developers than consumers. This most likely means that lots of information on the upcoming version of OS X will be revealed (and a feature-complete beta is released today as well), but undoubtedly information about the iPhone, Apple TV, and hopefully new products will show up as well...

This is going to be a discussion thread on it as it happens, I guess. MacRumorsLive is a auto-updating site with text and pictures from the venue, so we can watch that and then come here and go ZOMGCRAZY over whenever Steve Jobs says "ONE MOAR THING"...or even better, "boom."
And let's try to keep the offtopic chat down a bit in this thread, eh?

Safari for windows? I didn't see that coming. Overall, I think Leopard looks like much more of an upgrade than Tiger was, and I am really liking the looks of the new dock/finder etc, but I would have liked to see some new hardware, especially the new iMac that there have been so many rumors about.

I'm running Safari. I'm probably going to miss Firefox's customization, but the speed is better. It's a LITTLE noticeable in normal use. Enough to make me go "woah" on first load of a page, compared to Firefox.
I didn't expect any hardware at all...it's the Developer conference. They're bound to talk mainly software through the whole thing, so I wasn't disappointed about that.

The new Desktop seems neat, though. Stacks looks cool.

Does Safari not have that annoying memory leak/uber memory usage problem that Firefox does?

Indeed it does. I just gave it a shot and after loading only a few webpages, it was using a little over 100 MB of ram. This feels like a very early version needs quite a bit of work but I am impressed so far.

I stopped using it. I like my "Recently Closed Tabs" feature, because I'm clumsy.
I'll wait for the final version of it and then be happy.
