Xbox Live Renewal

Lets say i had an account, but dicontinued the subscription like a year ago. Is there anyway to renew that account again once i deleted it? Like if i put the username in for a Gamertag, will it say "This account is being used already", and could i do an acccount recovery using my credit card?

Great, I will try later. But i thought i heard something about a 15 day period after you delete it to renew it. Or that might be just to keep the data>
