Halo 3 Mod recruit

From the leaks of Halo 3 to the trailer...ive been obsessing. even my friends are going insane cuz of my obsession. and i have a high end computer now so i can start modding. I have 3ds Max and everything. I am a good modeler and know alot about modding. My weakness is UV mapping..i really havent tried i need to learn...to hte point

Using the recources we have and the SP conversions and now the power to UV map and the makers of all the great programs including the GREAT enity. we have unlimited powers. I want to start a team. To make a halo 3 conversions. using SP conversions and modding and changing some maps we have now. we can do anything.

My goals:

1. Create Team

2. Modify MC's armor to look like the Halo 3 armor

3. Make weapons such as the spiker and spartan laser

4. Make new vehicles (mongoose, man cannon)

5. Convert SP levels and modify present maps (like coag...make it the new and improved...Valhalla)

6. Compile it all into a map pack. with just these levels.

so far on the team it is me and little_shadow

i know it is early but we will update when more things get released for halo 3. we plan to make ~10 maps for multiplayer. Including Frost Bite, Valhalla, and Highground. The rest will be SP conversions, bloc mods, and mods on existing maps.

Progress:
Valhalla is in the process. we are getting rid of the bases and replacing them with the new ones and adding waterfalls and etc.

I was suppose to be modeling but after days of work it didnt turn out so well because i cant UV map at all really. So i am probably going to go to work on High Grounds. Please help as much as you can. We need a good modeler to model the spartan lazer, spikers, and anything else we would need. and a good UV mapper.

Ideas for maps so far:
Coag-Valhalla
Zanzibar-High Grounds
Frost Bite-? Relic?
Beaver Creek-Blood Creek

many more to come. we are doing this one step at a time.

I could make the spiker, and maybe replace the flak cannon projectile with the sentinel beam or the prophet cannon.

Jason Jx has already modeled the spartan lazer and I have modeled the spiker already.

If Jason Jx dosen't want to contribute to the mod because he just dosen't want to =P, then I might consider modeling it =P. Before I dive in and say I will commit myself to work on this, what skills/specialtys of modding?

I think Valhalla would be fun to start on =]. I can help out with the mongoose also.

that model is awesome doom. and right now we need a good modeler. right now my 3ds max got teh shit beat out of it....i was being stupid and now when i choose rotate or scale or anything like that it doesnt show the icon helper thing. so i dont know where im turning it and its hell. little_shadow is working on Valhalla i think. and im probably going to try frost bite or what ever it is called. i just skinned a beaver creek tho...dont know if we will use it. it is snowy lol. i got bored. but pm me here or email me if you are interested. right now i think im going to start doing the halo 3 master chief. changing its bumps, bitmaps and cubemap on the visor.

Cool, Im in =]

To fix the 3ds max problem all you have to do is select the rotation tool and selcet a object and hit x on your keyboard. It should come back then =].

Now lets see,

1. Create Team (almost done)

2. Modify MC's armor to look like the Halo 3 armor (Use treps halo 3 mc tags he released for halo 2?)

3. Make weapons such as the spiker and spartan laser (I got the spiker covered and if need the lazer also)

4. Make new vehicles (mongoose, man cannon) (I most likely got the mongoose covered.)

5. Convert SP levels and modify present maps (like coag...make it the new and improved...Valhalla) (ehh? Just use Mp for now)

6. Compile it all into a map pack. with just these levels.

just read whats in parantheses there =P thats what is easy and can be done pretty quick.

thanks. and ya.....i might be behind on work...my best friend got jumped last night. in self defense he pulled out a knife and cut someones stomache open....he is in juvi right now.......so ya..

and someone already did the halo 3 mc? with the right hands, battle damage, and etc?

i feel bad for you freind. im glad he had that knife, thats the problem with the law, theres noo such thing as self defense anymore. well now thaving said that i have to say something towards the mod or its considered spam. well if i could do something to help i would. but i cant. you can never go wrong with the first of something.

lol thanks. but ya progress is going well on the mod i guess. i havent talked to little_shadow yet. so i guess i am going to start Valhalla on my own again. and i have a mod going ive been working on my spare time. i dont know if it will work in this mod but i find it quite cool. it has actual falling snow. it sticks to u and the ground. it has the earth on one side and death star on other, then the beaver creek bases are skinned. one in brick and one is stone. it looks pretty cool...but anyone know how to null out bump maps correctly? need help on that...my floors look like crap and i just want the bump map gone.

lol maybe. depends how effective it is. and my dds plug in is....angering me...lol i hit "dont ask me this again" and it opens the mip map and wont even let me edit the dds anymore...i need to change it...i dont kno how! errrrr

EDIT: YAY it started working again for a random reason...ill post pics of this map in a bit

Well, I am making the SPARTAN LASER and Jason JX is letting me use his model ^_^. I already have the basic weapon properties working so I'll contribute once I complete this weapon XD

Well, I am making the SPARTAN LASER and Jason JX is letting me use his model ^_^. I already have the basic weapon properties working so I'll contribute once I complete this weapon XD
I actually have already pretty much finnished modeling the spartan laser, just gotta touch it up here and there. Mine is probaly going to be the most detailed one around =P. If you want you can contribute but I think I got this part covered =P,

i didnt think anyone would be bother to put enough work in to do this...seems i was wrong and i'd like in on the action...i would have done Valhalla but if little_shadow is doing that ill do High Ground, diffcult but i love challenges :D

edit: ive made a start and its look sweet its still pre-alpha as far as looks go but so far i have:

1. placed all player spawns(i think team spawns are correct)
2. placed all weapons
3. placed all objectives
4. placed scenary although this is mostly likely to change

so all i need to do really is place a few machs here and there to enclose the area more as well as creating walkways then skin and its done :D

Well, the mongoose would be easy to put it, since they've got it in most current HCE maps. Just saying.

Though if im not mistaken, the H3 mongoose will seat 2 people, in CE the mongoose only seats one. So not as easy as you think.
