Hey everyone of halomods.com, out team snowmakers have been working on a BSP injection project and intend on becoming the second team ever to inject a full BSP.

So far the team consits of 3 people, Me (Ruder), Pyro Blizzard and Cragsterboy. We all have different tallents and work as a team. If anyone would be interested, either post here or you can post in the recruitment section in the forums on our site (http:/snow-makers.com).

Or if you do not wish to be in the team but wish to help us on this project it would be appreciated. Someone who knows about injection would be awsume, only my BSP injection programs do not fully work.

Any of the following specs are needed in our team...
  • Modeling
  • Skinning
  • Fluent at Insolence
  • Weapon Effects
  • Hex Editing
  • Overall Dothalo Knowledge

Just say what ur good at and maybe some proof and we will consider you. If you are a modeler, then u do have an advantage, snowmakers is based around models.

All images and maps are made by snowmakers. Please tell us if you see any of our maps taken and renamed! Thankyou!

Thanks in advanced, Ruder

I wanna join

1 mesh out of 48. hmm you must be working on coagulation.
Care to list what you updated exactly?

i am using a modified version of glitchy's BSP tools, it took me 3 hours to inject 1 mesh, it involves hex editing and alot of paitents.

erm, ok well fantom, if you mention it on the snowmakers forum then we will add you into the list =D

Ruder.
This project sounds very interesting.
Have you gave any thought to how you are going to update the level collision? It just seems like a lot of stuff to fix to me. Although if you can do that all in hex you must have alot of skillz.

1. Isn't collision part of BSP, I only use Halo CE, so I don't know about H2
2. To get the lightmaps, compile and perform radiosity with the HEK.
3. Nice model
4. Is it UVed yet?

No collision isnt part of the bsp and HEK is a Halo 1 program. Also i dont know what your going on about lightmaps . They will fix them selves. and wats uved?

Collision is part of anything that you cant walk through. Such as walls, tree's, vehicles, and of course, the BSP.

not what I meant.
and, no colision is not part of scenery or vehicles, it is completely seperatd.
you can still run the BSP through the HEK...

right i will tell you what happens, when you inject the BSP mesh by mesh the collision stays the same as the original map. This is where you have to hex edit the cordinates of each collision vertex to match the BSP mesh you just injected. This is the only way i have found of doing it without any program.

o and the lightmaps sort them self out yes, however they are going to be the original lightmaps but just strechted over the map. This only problem i am going to have with the lightmaps is inside the new base i have put in. This is due to the fact that there aint a base in the same place as there in the original coagulation.

and that is how a BSP injection works.

Lets not get off topic this is a thread to see if anyone would like to join our team or help us with this project.

Sorry Pyro,
I have just been working on the sbsp tag and injection alot longer than most people here. So I know how much work and research is needed to do it. It is not as easy as most people think

I am definitely with Talin64 on this one, the bsp is much too complex for a majority of the people here to tackle. The so-called "bsp-tools" released by everyone are just a bunch of hacked up applications that won't do you any good. If you really want to inject a full working bsp you will need to do lots of research, theres no easy way around it and thats the truth.
