hey metallica54 are you planning to put all of these instruments together as one song? if so is it gonna be a custom song or an existing song? and if you are going to put them together as one song then their gonna need to be in the same key.

I bet a lot of people on
www.gamerenders.com would love to do this. Also, one of you should get Garageband (iLife, for Apple). 'Tis really the best thing for songmaking. Unless you want to pay a significant amount of money.

Sorry guys, its been awhile since I posted this. Bassically (it will probably fail miserable bit I figured I might as well give it a shot.) I was going to try and get a group of good musicians, write up some kind of music, and then there would be one person who records a part, then another records over it and so on untill we have a song. For example, a violinist would record some kind of a song. Then, maybe he/she would record the same thing a few more times and mix it with the existing voilin to make it sound kind of like a symphany. Then, lets say a pianist would record their part over the violin part, than maybe some thing like a bass or an oboe would record, then maybe a guitar would wail over the whole thing every once in awhile to pump everyone up like in Halo 2. The music wouldnt just be insane wailing though, only a bit of wailing for certain parts when the good guys are kicking ass or something. The movie is going to be an intense action/drama like Saving Private Ryan, and the music should be sad and moving and intense. And the music would be some kind of written song, it wouldnt just be mindless instruments playing over each other. I wasnt looking for anything complicated, I just wanted to make a custom soundtrack or maybe just a song or two for a Halo movie I am putting together. And thank you very VERY much to anyone who says the can help out. Oh, and sorry drummers, if its needed, I got that covered. I play guitar as well so I could write up guitar music but my recording equitment isnt really top quality (it sucks) so the main thing im looking for is good recording equitment to make the music sound good. Thanks again.
-With much apriciation,
Craig

ever heard of MIDI?
MIDI is the amazing computer-based orchestra!
I have the halo theme in a midi format (someone had some spare time...) and it sounds EXACTLY like the real thing.
You don't need real instruments to get the same effect. Just get a MIDI maker, I have a really old one (doesn't even work on this PC...) that works great (on my other PC), and MIDI files can be played on any Windows PC (windows comes with the 'instruments' needed to play them, seeing as all a MIDI is is sheet music for your computer)
use MIDI, get it done faster, and no one needs to practice any thing, all the intstruments sound perfect. (check your computer for the existance of 2 classical pieces in MIDI format, you'll see what I mean)
why do you need a bagpipe? (it is included with the MIDI instrument set)
