biped editing problems

I've been messing around a lot lately, a lot of people want a lot of different crazy mods at my house, but I've also had about three big projects started in the last month.

First, my roommate wanted to throw grenades a lot farther, so I fixed the Grenade velocity to 15...that was the only change I made before testing it, and it froze.

Next, I decided to make crouch into run, so I fixed the Crouching Camera Height to 0.62, and crouch speed to I believe 10. FTP, and it froze again.

More recently, for one of my real projects I needed the Marines Default Team to be Covenant. Guess what happened? It froze.

Why does editing the Bipd freeze the game?
I just read through about 75 pages from three searches, and nothing helped.

What program are you using to edit the maps?
and are you signing them using that program or a seperate resigner?

also i'd like to point out,
you should always use clean maps and not the same map over and over.

because Entity isn't finished. Entity corrupts the Biped.
Use Insolence to edit the [Bipd]

Entity does not corrupt the bipd tag when you are just editing it. You're referring to corruption while transferring bipd tags using Entity...and that's only under certain circumstances.

I noticed when I downloaded the latest bipd plugin it made the camera spin wildly everytime I edited anything in the bipd (or even just saved without editing). Finally I opened the map in a older version of Entity and found out that it made the crouching transition time into NaN, which is Not a Number. I replaced that with 0.5 or whatever it is and the camera stopped spinning.
But that's not a freezing problem. The map would load, you just couldn't play (like you were continually dying)., but the other (unedited) biped would work fine. Just something to try... maybe use an older bipd plugin.

im using entity 1.3.9 for meta editing, i always resign it with entity, and if it freezes or i have any problems i use a clean map to test what im working on.

if it doesnt freeze however i use the same map to prevent redoing everything, because i also want to see it all flows together.

also, Shock, Ill try using Insolence.

thanks for the help guys.

Meta editing the biped does corrupt it.
Insolence ftw.
