can you give me the name of a card that works thats under $75 Confused
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What kind of slot does your pc have for graphics? PCI Express x16, PCI Express x1, PCI, AGP.

If you don't know open your computer and look at the empty slots

This may help. The colors may be different in your computer and you may have a different number of slots.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ok well i looked at the mother boards guide and i have a
pci express x1 slot
pci express x16 slot
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I found a lot of cards that should work for you but their a little on the high side for your spending. Their all under 75 but when you add shipping they go above it.

Also if you were at a higher spending limit I would say go for a 8600GT like this
I was thinking of ordering that myself.

For mid to higher end gaming:

low price: $36.99

If you just need a graphics card for bsp viewing only then these should do:

If you can't order online then goto bestbuy or circuitcity, but they tend to cost more in stores.

Go into my computer and select Add or Remove programs. Then find the nvidia display driver and uninstall it. Then restart your computer and reinstall the drivers.

Also make sure you uninstall your other graphics card drivers as well.

what is your operating system and what bit is it? There's 32bit and 64bit and that can matter.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Well, download the most up to date drivers from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Select

GeForce
GeForce 8 Series
GeForce 8400GS
What ever your operating system is? (Right click my computer and it should say it there in the General tab)
English (US), unless you speak a different language. Wink

Click search and it will find the correct driver for you.

After you download it run it and it should install and hopefully you won't have anymore problems.

If you have your manual to your motherboard it would help.

When you first turn on you computer hold down the Delete key and wait for a screen to pop up, thats your bios.

Now goto Advanced BIOS Features. Make sure Init Display First = [PCI Slot] and make sure Internal Graphics Mode = [Disabled]

After you set those 2 settings hit Esc key and then hit F10 key so it saves.

Did you try all versions of entity, because I've noticed some bsp plugins don't allow me to view the bsp. Try to use Entity Alpha 1 and see if it errors.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
try to use Entity Alpha 1
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
same error
xxxxxxxxxx
i looked for init display first in all areas of my bios i couldent find it nor could i find internal graphics mode so i just left the bios (discard changes and exit)

or a bsp viewer i have tried visual scenery mover, entity UE 1.6, entity 1.3.9, and entity 1.4 i dont even know if there is any other different bsp viewers. Question totally confused on what the problem is Question
i found my mother board manual. umm i dont know what else i can tell you but i hope this narrows things down Confused .
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ok i will go cheak if i have the manual
i will also go turn off the onboard graphics if it doesnt alredy do that
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
i think that it does that by itself but if it usually doesnt than how do i know if its off and if its on how do i turn it off?
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
i've still got problems
Crying or Very sad
darnd thing well if you dont know why im still having this error and dont know how to fix it then ill just find some program that will substitute for a BSP veiwer Sad
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Have you tried updating your directx? I only read most of what you typed out in your original post. It's just jumbled and confusing to read all the way through.
