XBOX SOFTMODDING HELP!

Ok, I searched on google, and followed a tutorial on how to softmod. I did everything right, but when it was all done, my dashboard was never changed. My xbox also has a red ring of deatH! I need help, the tutorial stated that if I did these last few steps the db should change, it didnt! Help!

I used this one: Don't link to that site.
I followed it step by step, did everything right. When it just finished installing the mods, before the normal xbox dashboard it would show unleashX or something, but it doesnt even do that anymore!

What does it do? If it brings you to the clock, you need to set it to the appropriate time and date, play a game for a bit until you reach a couple checkpoints, then restart your xbox.

if it shown a red ring and booted to the ms dash the mod worked, you just didn't install the dashboard. Was the softmod installer a blue-ish dashboard?

Depending on the softmod just hit, L + R + Back + Start.
