active camouflage help

i want to be able to turn active camouflage on/off when playing as MC(soon to be odst)
like when the elite in campaign mode,

i want to know how to:
Appy the active camouflage and turn it no/off?

change time limit on the camouflage,time in active camouflage and recharge time?

and will this still work when i make MC a odst?

Its part of single player you cant do it. You cant even make mc's flash light turn on and off or make teh sword have ammo. So I dont think you could do it, not without scripts.

for the active camo I think I may know how to do it but you will either have to add a trigger to a weapon and/or not be able to throw grenades. And by doing that I'm not sure how to add a timer to the camo.

Hmm, there may be a way to activate the flashlight with scripts but don't ask me how to because I never looked into scripts that far.

but untill i can find that i can find out how to add a trigger

im nothing close to being a pro modder tho this is also something interesting to me. Couldn't you just take the Elite from campaign to a mp map using insolence? and just do some swapping of some minor tags if you had too

i believe they are the same...

but i also believe there might be a difference (one regular, and one with '_mp' at the end)

besides, that prolly isnt referenced in the hlmt, but in the biped itself, and u cant exactly swap the bipeds directly...

unless, my modding skills r out-of-date...?

You can simulate the elite's active camo, but it will cost you a trigger on a gun, as penguin says. Check out my mods called Chaste Beaver Creek and Chaste Warlock. I made a weapon called the cloak sniper. By pushing L trigger, you cloak for about 10 seconds, then de-cloak. It's not perfect, but it's the closest anyone has come, and it's easy, portable and SLC.

The cloak sniper has 2 rounds of cloaking, which you could easily increase. It works by attaching a grenade to you. Whether the grenade attaches depends on the biped's animations, unfortunately, so you have to stand still, then crouch or look down depending on your biped. I have not tested it with anyone but the chief and the elite, so I don't know how well it will work with the ODST. You can adjust the length of time you stay cloaked by changing the grenade's detonation time, but getting hit or shooting certain weapons will also decloak you, like in campaign.

I recommend not giving people unlimited camo, or everyone will be camouflaged at all times. Try to keep it balanced.
