I r knew culd I have sum help!1!!

Ok, I'm at a loose end. I have no clue and I hope I don't have to restart.

Here's the dealio, I converted a single player map to multiplayer...Here's the best bit, using an old version of h2g/c. I'm not sure if it happens with the newer conversions, however what has happened is that certain sounds, mainly human weapon sounds have seemingly been eaten by an ogre.

I get it, an ogre isn't a good description, so here's an example: smg sounds are all sped up, magnum sounds create a delayed echo in the distance, as does the battle rifle. the other human weapons have similar problems.

After looking through various plugins, all different kinds of sound tags I can't find anything to change any sort of speed or reverb settings in the sound.

My next trick was to internalise the sound and inject original ones over...I thought I was a genius...but it didn't work.
My third and final trick for the night kiddies was to duplicate a sound from another map, rename and transfer to the current map...the sound still didn't work, regardless of the fact that it was a comepletly different sound tag. To no avail :(

So, I'm out of ideas, could anybody shed some light on the matter? I hope there is something other than "start over" as I don't believe that to be an option here.

well, after reading your post, i cannot really say how to fix your problem for sure but i can give a few suggestions.

but before that, if you have to restart this project of yours, even after all your efforts, use a newer version of h2core.

however, if you have entity 1.6 UE (i think thats the most updated version) you could try rebuild. Yes i know rebuild doesnt always work but it pulled through for me once. so go to the rebuilder, take out the magnum_fire sound and rebuild your map. Then go to a mp map (such as coag) and save the tag, making sure the recursive, parsed, and sounds check boxes are checked, the rebuild the sound back into yourt current project. With any luck that may work

other then that i wont say start over or restart, but rather begin anew.

There is no point trying to debug this map for like a week when you can restart and be back to where you were in like 2-3 days.

I forgot to mention, that the seperate tag transfer worked to a degree...It came out sounding more like the original, but still wasn't the same...Perhaps that is the quality of entity's sound transfering (I've never tried it previously so I'm not sure of its quality)

That bug "is normal" when you convert, just null out the ambience sounds idents(snde) on the sbsp and scnr, it should fix that i think.

I think you might be able to build the sounds back into the map with H2core.

Australian isn't a race...

@ Scotty, did you try the newer version of h2core and h2guerilla? Not sure what that would change/do but it's worth a try.
