Weather Problem

ok so im not new to modding but u couldnt say im pro either.

so ive been workin on my first pro mod. the first thing i need to do is add weather but it never works. i decompiled and rebuilt with H2 core over 5 times. so then i tried the weather BSP tool but yet it still freezes.

then only changes ive made to my PC are... upgrade to windows vista. and using entity 1.6 UE.

any help would be appreciated!!! :)

EDIT 1: ok well ive read that some systems dont rebuild properly so im going to downgrade to XP Pro. see if that solves the problem. Ive also read that entity 1.3.9 runs much better than 1.6 UE. (i can actually tell the difference in preformance ... wow). and if you have any suggestions post them up. but i prefer to use the original map not inject into a new map.

With the BSP Weather tool, make sure you are following the steps 100% correctly, and you are transferring the expected tags in the scnr(all the deca, DECR, scen, mach, bloc, etc) and all their respective reflexives in the scnr.

hey detox

well i was just moving spawns to see if i could spawn. i thought that moving things was optional. i just wanted to make sure weather works before i move all spawns.

besides i want to try to keep the original map not inject it into gemini. thats y i need h2c to work

Well you really shouldn't need to move anything. If you have a version of that map that your trying to add weather to with correct spawns, you can just copy and paste those.

yes i did copy the player spawns but nothing else. BSP Weather freezes in the pregame lobby when i have 0 seconds on countdown.

H2 Core freezes at a black screen (im using 4_02_07)

If you follow h2core 100% correctly you should be able to keep your default map and not have to reset spawns.

But have some troubles using Entity after... Unless he wants to do everything in h2core and h2guerilla...for now, i'd suggest using Detox's tool.

Make sure it isn't one of those maps that needs everything transfered over to work. Like Burial Mounds..

the updated h2 core corrupts the maps when your trying to rebuild the weathered bsp and you would have to do something to fix the the corruption i think killerzachary made a tut for that you need the old version 3-7-7. Ill post a link in a sec

GREAT!! ill try that link in a few. but to my understanding that tuorial says how to fix corrupted weapons. well my map doesnt even load far enough for me to see the weapons or hear sounds.

EDIT o and btw im using coag for this mod so there are no decals. ive reasearched this quite a bit and that tuorial should work. and yes i have had troubles in entity.

ive just backed up to XP so im going to try detox's tool again but if not ill try H2C again with that tutorial

has ne 1 figured out what makes the new h2c bad?

sorry for the double post but if i add waterr and weather using the detox tools do i absolutely have to inject my bsp into a bigger map.

or maybe just wether and no water? i might be able to use coags water pool for water

Nah sorry bro, but just injecting one will still make it so you have to inject the sbsp into another map :(.

Yea, it'll freeze. I suggest you use H2core, and H2G.

just a side note... if i use 3-7-7 version instead of my 4-2-07 will it still get corrupted?

For the weather? If you use the 3-7-07 it will work. If you use the new one it will NOT work.
