no just do a bsp conversion with the mainmenu. You might need to change some of the cameras though because it's likely to go through a building.

I don't think it will work using H2C/H2G, I don't think it works properly with the mainmenu, but you can probably use Entity with a smaller BSP.

He's correct. If it is rebuilt, all the raw will be shifted, and maps have external raw's that are located in the mainmenu, this would mean you would need to fix every map in the mainmenu.
