HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

So I'm trying to skin for the first time. In fact, I want to release a map. I don't know what it's called yet, I don't even have any weapon mods. Also, the map is fresh from the cd.

My problem?

How do I skin with gimp? I have the .dds plugin but I don't know how to extract or whatever.

Get the program DXTBmp, open up the dds from the map, convert it to a bitmap format, then skin the one in bitmap format in Gimp. then open the bitmap in DXTBmp and convert it back to dds texture. Then inject.
