Proper Zoom Values

How would I add zoom to a weapon using the proper values? For example, I want x6 zoom. The default sniper rifle values are:

Zoom Levels - 2
Min Zoom - 3.5
Max Zoom - 9.5

So logically, I should be able to multiply each value by 3, and get proper zoom. This isn't the case. Is there some sort of formula for adding zoom?

I tried searching, but it doesn't work properly for me. Even the simplest terms have no results (zoom, for example).

I would put in 4 or a little less, because 3.5 for the sniper is supposed to represent 5X

I thought that was 2x zoom

Maybe just put in 6?
Battle rifle has a zoom level of 2 when its zzoom level is 2 in game...
So most likley the sniper rifle is just using some odd numbers...So just put in 6

actually im pretty sure sniper rifle zoom levels are 2x and 8x. so if you want 6x zoom then put in 7.5 as a value.

So what values am I changing here? Obviously I'll have:

Zoom Levels - 6

But what do I put for the other two values?

EDIT: I wasn't clear; when I said 6x zoom, I meant 6 zoom levels.
