Assistance on the bubble shield is welcome

The bubble shield is pretty cool so far, I followed Ninja_modders tutorial.
I throw a frag grenade and out goes my bubble shield. I move my second player into the shield. Looks pretty good so far. Now I take first player and shoot at the character inside the shield. The character takes damage... Some more shooting takes place and he dies... I added health/shield properties to the bubble shield but it didn't work? Hmm... I experiment a bit more and find that only when I shoot the very very middle of the shield, is when the shield takes the damage. This is caused by the Phmo being switched with an assault bomb so the shield is accessible.
What I think I can do from here is increase the assault bombs collision area. Although there could be a different way it would be greatly appreciated if someone could help.
