No just use photo shop 8 or higher also. That repeating image has to do with the unused slots sharing a raw image. Use this program
http://forums.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=58251 it allows you to fix that problem.

What do you mean it won't let you save it?

Just open the .psd, edit to your liking, and save as .dds with the correct settings.

yes that's what i do but the save button is like hidden or non selectable it won't let me press save. I try creating a dds myself and i can save it just fine but when i save his template the save button is disabled. It's hard to explain. It's never happened to me before. Is there any other program i can open dds files with cause photoshop is being gay on me

yeah
i skin maps all the time but for some reason when i try this, it never lets me save the file.
Let me ask you just one more time:
Are you sure you have this SPECIFIC plugin mentioned in this tutorial?
EDIT: Also, link fixed for the .DDS plugin.

Hey every time it get to the "verifying encryptomatic" part in serenity i get this error:
But when i close out serenity, because of the error, in my created folder with mainmenu and the map i want to add colossus(i hex edited the name to "Color" so it's not the original map) i see the patch as been generated. Even though i got that error.
should i still use it?

Uh...The hex editing thing I did was just an example, its not actually a requirement. The map needs to be modified in some way though. On another note, you could just try that patch out and see if it loads, but it might or might not; I don't know.

Ok will do. But i know the hex editing was just an example. I just wanted to test this tutorial out because i've been wanting to add my sppf patched maps to my mainmenu.
And i don't know how to use menu menu menu or Main Menu editor..
