how does bungie detect u modding

my question is how does bungie detect u mod... it cannot be the eeprom(cause i had my xbox modded without any maps modded and i went on live and never got banned). that was untill i put the mods on. i am just throwing this out there but maybe is it the signatures after u sign the map. because if it is couldn't u write down the original signature, then change the signature, ftp, then change the signature back to the origainal one and with the map modded?
sorry if this is worthless but u guys are geniuses so u tell me how it works

ok you "hacker", What they do is a basic md5 checksum. Yep thats it, modify 1 byte and your fucked. So go ahead mod on MM, but hurry you only has 20 minutes.I dont mod on xbl I read about it in a cheating site

First off, It's "condoned" not "consoned" and secondly the new halo 2 maps can be purchased seperately and are not only downloadable over xbox live. Therefore the maps are fine. Using them on xbox live is not. And no there's no reason for anyone here to mod on Live as a number next to your name just doesn't mean squat. Now please discontinue this discussion of modding on xbox live.

ok u got me there and once again wow thx for tellin me the maps can be bought seperatly wow this is quit a learning expierience. wow i learned consoned is not condoned and it takes 20 minutes, and how bungie detects you, that i can buy the maps in stores. dang thats like 1, 2, 3,4 things wow thx guys i love u all.
i know u hate me but i dont give a rats a.s.s so stfu

EDIT: yah i do agree with ur sig the PS3 does suck my left nut.
