Killtrocity - "Map failed to load": error, it used to work?

Hi guys,
hopefully i can get some help on this.
sometime ago (and i was new to halo mods, thus some of the process i have forgotten) i downloaded Killtrocity when it first came out - went through the patching process etc... and had a fully working copy on dvdr. I had then installled it on my old HD and it worked like a dream. now that i've upgraded my HD, i've reinstalled everything (mappacks, original H2) and the original works fine from disk and HD, but my killtrocity comes up with the 'failed to load map' error - i cant load any of them
can anyone help me out here - hopefully i'm not the only one to come up with this problem.
