As the title says, I bought a 360 a while ago put my old xbox away and lately ive had an urge to play some halo 2. I downloaded it to my xbox using dvd2xbox and tried running it. The loading screen comes up on my screen after selecting "launch menu/Games/Halo2" and then it just stays black. I had the full map packs installed and im wondering if the updates that they did on the xbox had anything to do with this and how to remove them if they did (already removed the maps themselves). I also tried downloading the D drive while halo 2 was in the box and sending it back to E/games that also didnt work. Nothing in halo is modded as of yet so its just a straight copy from dvd2xbox thats in my games folder atm.
thanks

the maps may have corrupted, i have unleash x and it has a game copy already in it, i just upgraded my hdd to 80 g and it worked flawlessly on it so im sure u could try that or the old fashioned way ftp all the files on to ur pc then ftp back into e or f games folder although thats pretty time costly... also how big is ur hdd it may not have enough room for halo 2 since its like 7-8 gigs in total, so u may want to make sure it copied hte Mainmenu.map, shared.map thats all u need to get to load a mp map.

thx for the help I tried the ftp thing to my computer and back to the xbox 1st (forgot about dvd2xbox at first) and I have the original xbox hard drive which I was able to play it off of before, the entire game was copied successfully. I think im gonna try downloading another game on it and see if that one works

Try reformatting your XYZ cache drives, deleting all h2 gamesaves (make backups), and transferring over a fresh copy of h2...that should do the trick
