Warthog skinning problems...

EDIT3: I've decided to do the editing in Photoshop, copy it over to Paint, save it, and then convert it to DDS using DDS Converter. Thanks for all your help.

I export the image like normal, take note of the format, and then open it in Photoshop. I do whatever changes I need, and then save it in the same format.

Everything seems to go fine until I import it back into Dothalo. No matter what changes I make, the image becomes:

Image

Can anyone please help me?

EDIT: I've also tried doing the editing in Paint, and then importing. That produces the image, with any edits I've done, but with a strange blue tint.

EDIT2: Editing the image in Paint (using DXTBmp with Paint set as the default editor) now works perfectly, but I would like to use Photoshop. :?

I used H2 Bitmap Internaliser.

Just to be sure, the process goes like this, correct?

1. Extract bitmap
2. Edit bitmap
3. Internalise
4. Import bitmap

I believe you are supposed to internalize it after you import it. That's how I do it, and it works fine.

Thats true.

That's what I thought at first, but when I internalise something, the image turns black, so importing the image and then internalising would be useless.

ok, this is what i do,

i internalise the bitmap first.

i use CH2R for extracting / injecting the skin.

i use Photoshop 7.0, (none of this CS crap)

i change it, flatten any layers that i might have added, and save.

and i inject it with CH2R and all seems to work fine.

thats just the way i do it, not sure if that method could help.

Okay, I'll try that and edit my post later on. Thanks.

You always internalize the bitmap before you inject it, if you don't you will inject into your shared.map, so the next time you go play any map, you will get the skin that you wanted to have just in the map you you skinned. You dig?

Anyways, You're probably using the wrong export settings, and if you are absolutely sure you they are right, get another DDS plugin, the one from nVidia works great.

But that is the alpha of the image, I think you should export in DXT3.

Yes, I updated my .dds plugin yesterday, and it didn't change anything.

I've heard from different people that I should Generate MIP Maps, or that I should use No MIP Maps, so I've tried both. Nothing changes.

Editing with Paint now works as it should, but skinning with Paint is rather limited...
