Super Jump...

Okay. I have my jump height set to 6.16 which is 2x default. What I am wondering, is there a way to set a second jump height? Perhaps a crouching jump that I could adjust a bit higher to say 3x? Or possibly melee the ground and knock yourself up higher? (i've seen the melee thing before) My son and I like to play and he loves the big jumps however sometimes it ruins a bit of the play. Hence I wanted to keep our default jump at one height and then if possible, set a higher jump height via a crouching jump or a ground melee attack :)

If anyone knows, would you mind letting me know? thanks.

the melee the ground thing can be done by adjusting the force of the melee_responce tags in the jpt. You can force yourself to superbouce anywhere by messing with the crouch bounch, in the bipd tag there is a courch bounce/jump, one of the two, that will edit how high you go when you crouch in mid are. This can use it to make it so you just duck and get higher or use it to slam yourself into the ground and force yourself into a super bounce by crouching, jumping, then letting go of crouch.

I know where the Jump Velocity is in bipd, but I can't find anything to do with crouching except for the camera height...any idea where I might find it?

to update i just simply dl the new one and save it over the old one right? If so, it hasn't changed anything. Still don't see anything relating to crouch or bounce, other than the crouching camera height. Maybe I'm retarded?

well I edited the jpt for strike_melee_respopnse and it works, but no one can join the game. They all get "failed to load the map". I was looking for a way to do this so that non-modders could still join the game (I know they wont have the jump but whatever. Its mostly for my home lan games anyway)

hmm, is that all you did to the map, also what map are you editing, is it one of the new ones?

Yea it was for dune.map (Relic) seems no one could load it, but coagulation.map worked ok. So either no one had dune.map or I'm doin something wrong with that one.

On a side note, with chain spawning and replacing [bloc] tags, if I fix system link, will that fix it and allow non-modders to see the effects?

yes they will see what spawns. Also for dune, did you edit it and put it in your map folder or did you actualy do a proper signiture fix and place it in the tdata folder?

I put it in my maps folder because I have an edited mainmenu.map which has all the new maps added into it with desc's and all. This way I can keep all my maps in 1 spot. It seems it was the other people who could not load the map because it seems to have loaded last night (not dune but coagulation, which I did the exact same thing to).

Also, still can't find that damn crouch thing :/

if you have a new map in the map folder, only other modders who have it in that folder will be able to load it.
