What applications OTHER THAN Insolence and Entity can i use to copy MACH's and other objects from one map to another....

Insolence refuses to open the map i'm working on, (dosent like one of the new changes) and entity is just complete crap.

the Xbox can still load the map... so i have no idea why insolence wont... but yeah... any other apps i can use that are as easy as Insolence?

If insolence isn't opening the map file, it probably has been protected so that you can't open it. And entity is the same as insolence. You can either drag and drop or you can extract the mach and then build the map. That's as easy as saving and opening the files.

it hasnt been protected.... as its had a lot of modifications to the map... and After the last one (involving chunks) Insolonce now refuses to load it and crash's out...

insolence is the ONLY app that cant open the map now.

also if i copy the MACH i want in Entity..... (from Newmombasa to Lockout) does entity automatticly copy everything else thats required like models & textures aswell, or doo i have to find them all one at a time?

:::EDIT:::
i tried it.... but it failed misserably.... after i dragged the MACH i wantted to Lockout, everything went grey for about 3 seconds... .then ungreyed... and nothing had changed no MACH in the list in Lockout.

Ugh... if anyone wants to have a look at the map add me to one of my many I.M accounts and i will send a patch.

i am trying to put nm_door_glass [MACH] from Newmombasa into Lockout.

entity's drag and drop rarely ever works. just go to the mach you want to import, make sure parsed and recursive are checked, and hit save, and save the meta where ever. now go to your MP map and hit build, then find the .info that was made when you saved the mach. that will add it to the level.

Yeay!!!

Well.... now in stuck on somthing else....

the tutorial says...

"10. remember how I asked you to write down those numbers? this is where it will come in handy. look up pallet and the number you wrote down for machine pallet we will need to edit everything above -1 of that number since 0 counts. (so if my number I wrote down for machine pallet is 2 I want to edit everything over 1)

11. Now swap the tags out for your newley added machine types."

but when i try too, Entity crash's.

if you are still using the map i gave you then all you should have to do is link the palette depenacy to the mach and then find it in the bsp viewer.

got a problem...... ok.. on that door in that image... its roll / pitch / yaw are all set to 0

but i want to spin the door 90 degree... (so it is on the doorframe next to it) EXCEPT, neither Roll / Pitch / Yaw, spin the door the way i want.... im guessing i have to enter a figure that is a combination of all roll / pitch / yaw.... does anyone know what to enter?

:::EDIT:::

Ghetto is right you needed to spin it about 1.57 You spun it 4.71 which is 450 Degrees (so 1 full turn then another 90 degrees) you can find with by taking you number and take 3.14 (pi) away from it = 1.57 which equals 90 degrees.

Understand?

i failed maths in the 4th grade........

all i ended up doing was typing a random number, then fine tuning it tilll it was on the angle i wanted.... all in all, the door looks fine.

but thanks for trying to help.
