Moving the sun

That bright thing in the sky that causes a glare on your screen when you look at it; just to clarify.
My question is what/were is the sun? (Under dothalo or any other program)
And is it possible to change it's position in the background?
If I'm not mistaken it should be the same for all the maps, if not then Headlong.
My plan is to make it look like the sun is setting over the water in headlong.
Any help is appreitiated, please ask any questions that are remotely related.

I dont think you can move it. It's not part of the background, like the sky and clouds are. It's just a lighting effect. I discovered this by flying up past the sky with the devcam trainer. When you clear the sky, the glare is still there.
So, simply, it's just a big light that shows up in the corner of the screen when you look at the sky.

Would there be any way to add another "sun"?

You might be able to virtually move it by nulling the one in the sky. Then adding a light high above with with the same lense flare, That might work.

well snap.
can someone clarify how the ligh tag can place the sun? I thought placement was done through scnr only. Am I just wrong in my assumption or am I not comprehending something?

placement is a relative thing ie scnr places the sky the sky places the sun, scnr places a warthog the warthog places its turret

like i said, you need to mess with the sky tag, that has the suns placement info. would get more into detail but there is about 2 minutes till the bell rings.

Wish I had a class where I could acess computers...
Ignore what I said about placing a light. As xzodia said, its all in the sky tag.

I thought you could just create a lens flare in photoshop and basically darken the original sun. You can also make it turn into night, but I do not know how to do that.

you have to update your plugin for insolence. you can get an updated one from the
TRP site. You will probably have to go to the forums to get the right one.
I have access to computers at school because my fourth period class is network communication tools and my first period is study hall.

I believe i found something to do with the sun in the bsp tag awhile ago when i was playing around with some unkowns. Go to the TRP site and check my bsp plugin in the lens flares reflex i believe you can move the actuall position of where the sun emits its light.

I didn't think the sun emitted any light; it was just a lense flare...Only because any light that you'd see affecting anything would be from the lightmap or smaller objects that emit light(warthog, lights in Zanzibar etc...)
What we need is a lightmap generator lol.

I'm seeing a lot of unknowns.
Is this still a pluggin issue? Or is this what I should be looking at?
I thank you all for your help.
