HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

So I understand that when you log onto XBL (as I have on my unmodded Xbox), you can auto-update Halo 2 to version 1.1. Then you can also download the nine new maps onto your drive.

Now, I recently downloaded Xbox7887's Screencap Package and got it up and running on my modded Xbox. I love the trainer, yet I understand that it only works on Halo 2 v1.0. But I would like to use this trainer on the new maps, and I am wondering how I can download the new maps onto my drive without auto-updating to v1.1. Obviously, anything to do online would be out of the question, as this Xbox is modded.

I know that someone made a Mainmenu mod to help people change back from version 1.1?? But that doesn't work for me, as I am ALREADY v1.0 and need to just get the new maps downloaded and working.

Well first where do you plan to get the maps, XBL? if so it will automaticly update, but that doesn't matter, you can remove it. Also use yelo, it has everything in the screen cap package and more, lots more. And the only other legal method of getting the maps is buying the multiplayer map disc and then add them to your main menu, which the mainmenu mod does.

The Map Pack disc WILL NOT update my Halo 2? It will only add the maps?

Well actutally when you sign on live to download the update you get the AU 1.2. It'll say 1.1 but it's 1.2 which will not let you add maps to the mainmenu or else it will bounce you back to the main menu. If you use the map pack disc it will update you to 1.1 and give you the new maps.

Actually, last night I implemented the new XBL maps into my box, without the AU. They all work, but I can't get them to each have their own preview bitmap. Hummm....

Someone made a patch awhile back so that every map could have its own preview image, I forgot who made it but its works.

Well this adds all nine new maps to the MM with images and descriptions, thanks to Snave.
Also I believe this is the patch "a mammoth" was talking about.
