i am trying to patch a map but what do i put in source map and output map

basically source map is the original map. I have backups of all my originals on my comp in case a mess something up. Output is your new map. What i do is prepare a new output map, by copying an original map to a folder, and then select it in the output map field. And for source map i select my orig. When applying the patch it will say "source and output are not the same, continue?" just click yes and everything will be fine.

i do that but everytime i do that it says an error has occured and it says send error report or dont send and i press dont send and it closes serenity.What i do is that i have a modded maps folder and an unmodded maps folder and what i do is that i copy the map that i want to patch from the unmodded folder to the modded folder and then since the map that i wanted to patch from the modded folder now doesnt have any mods in it so then i put that map into the source map part and in the output part i save it from the same folder that i put in the source map part. Please tell me if this is wrong or right.

thats what it said to me it said send an error report or dont send and when i pressed dont send it just closed and i also pressed send an error report but that really didnt do anything

that means that serenity is corrupt or windows cant recognize iit
or your doing sumthing horribly stupid

well can u just tell me what to do so it doesnt keep saying that
