now what?

ok I was in the process of softmodding my xbox and it got messed up. I got splinter cell, action replay, and a memory card. I read a tutorial and followed it exactly putting the linux gamesave onto my memory card. I read another tutorial on putting it on my xbox. But after I start splinter cell and press new game and select the profile linux it doesn't go to the right screen and if I select any options it says "error get technical support" I was wondering what did I do wrong and if its fixable how? I have another xbox to try again and I want to know so I don't mess it up too.
