i have a softmodded xbox and was able to open up containment using Dothalo. i edited a few things such as making the warthog fly. i applied the ppf patch that i made and fixed the encryption. i ftp'ed the new map over the old one and tried to load it in halo 2. i couldn't. the load failed. i can't figure out to get the modded maps to work.

another question: how do i install the killtrocity map pack to my xbox?

To get the maps to work you must re-sign them with a resigning program

OMG. I can't belive everyone missed this. You don't apply a ppf to a modded map that you are going to put on your xbox.

You apply it to a nonmodded map :P

He said he made his own mod so your statment is irrelevent.

As for you, try replacing mainmenu.map with the one from your disk.

actually you could apply a ppf to a map you modded as long as you didn't add any data to it, but anything you changed could be overwritten

Guys, please get back on topic here he asked a question and you are all just talking around him.

To answer the question, it's probably because you did something to the map that it can't handle. When new to modding try to not go to overboard with stuff

i finally got a few mods to work such as flying warthogs and superjumps (bipd). anyway the reason it wasn't working was because i had a bad resigning program. now i am using SameSid and it works great.

question, though: how can i change the actual look of a gun?

that would be skinning, or if you want modeling
