Question about hlmt's

So quite a while back I tried swapping a banshee's hlmt with a scarab. Didn't work. I did manage to place the hlmt over the banshee gun, but as most of you know, that leaves it without collision. I also tried replacing a warthog's guass turret with a uberchassis hlmt. That didn't work either. Once, I replaced a warthog's hlmt with a hev (which is one of those pods you get in, in campaign mode) and it worked.
Now I'm trying another hlmt swap that refuses to appear, like my attempt with the scarab, and I wonder if anybody might know what it is about hlmts. Like why won't it appear? Is there any way I can fix it to appear?

Lots of hlmt's are very weird. I have had this happen a lot of times also, still don't know what's up with them.

Instead of actually swapping the htmls, why don't you just swap the dependenciec of the html.

I've experimented a bit with building the hlmt seperately. Like, say I wanted to give a wraith the hlmt of a pelican, but the pelican's hlmt wouldn't work for some reason (it does--this is just an example). I could swap the wraith's phmo out for the pelican's, then give the wraith's weap the hlmt of the pelican and move the bounding box so they're lined up... if they're not lined up already. The problem, though, is the pelican wouldn't animate, since the mode is attached to the weap.
Yeah, so that was just an example. I'm not ready to tip my cards yet on what I'm actually doing. The point is the hlmt won't work for some reason so I need to find a way to make it work. Something besides the example I just gave.
