Xbox to PC Connection Problem

I can no longer access my Xbox's harddrive from my computer. I use a CAT 6 crossover cable and have two FTP programs: FlashFXP and SmartFTP, whenever I connect my Xbox to my computer the connection icon (the two monitors on the taskbar) notify me that there is "Limited or no connection."

I haven't the slightest how to fix this. When I first bought the cable and connected the console and the PC is worked fine. I used DotHalo to mess around with Halo 2 and stopped modding for a while, then after a month or two it stopped working.

When I use SmartFTP this comes up:

[01:15:24] SmartFTP v2.0.993.13
[01:15:24] Resolving host name "192.168.0.2"
[01:15:24] Connecting to 192.168.0.2 Port: 21
[01:15:24] Connected to 192.168.0.2.
[01:15:45] An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
[01:15:45] Server closed connection
[01:15:45] Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...

So it has to be the Xbox I guess. I don't know what to do to solve this problem though. Any suggestions and tips are greatly appreciated.

Use Flash FXP. It is much easier, in my opinion.

Do you see your IP address on your Xbox when you have it connected with the Crossover Cable?

I also don't think we can talk about this here. If we can't you need to go to www.xbox-scene.com.

I've always used FlashFXP, I just thought I'd try SmartFTP today to see if anything different happens.

I see my IP adress on the Xbox regardless if it's connected or not. I'd just have to go to 'System Configuration" from the EvoX menu.

I'll copy this thread and post it over there then. Thanks.

Yes you will see it in 'System Configuration' but look in the righthand corner. It should say IP:'IP here'. I'm not sure if this is what is happening to you but sometimes I get 0.0.0.0 or its blank. Blank meaning its not connected and 0.0.0.0 meaning you need to restart your xbox. The "limited or no connectivity" I always see because Icut out my internet connection when I FTP and I don't know a way around it.(meaning you could be connected there).
Hope this helps.

Make sure no computer has the same local IP as the Xbox, if your Xbox is static and on your router.
