What makes and brakes SLC?

SLC is inherently there, you can't make it

.
Generally, drag&dropping breaks it (sometimes, sometimes it doesn't), and Glitchy's Chunk Adder broke it too, but you can use Entity now.

... So how do I do sys link with modded maps.. I'm going to a lan party tonight. Could you be a little more specific? Do I have to overwrite an existing map or can I add to the mm and still do sys link? Adding chunks to a map breaks it right?
What I meant by making sys link is how do you play modded maps (I know sys link is "inherently there" ... I'm not that dumb)
I know you can change spawn locations but would something like spawning a mach from another map break it? (I'm guessing yes)
Could someone please take the care to answer thoroughly.

I said drag&drop? That means importing stuff from other maps. Look in the files forum for something called the goof tag, you can use it to fix SLC somehow... I'm not entirely sure, I never looked into it. Also, you can't play sys link from maps added to the mainmenu, because it'll say on the other xboxes that the map isn't found. So yea, you have to overwrite for those.

Yeah, I've seen those. I think I have a pretty good idea of how it works now.
One more question, could I move the spawn co ordinates of a gun and have it still be slc? Would the other boxes see the moved gun?

Yes you can move it without it messing up and others with out the mod will be able to see it. For those tags I listed, found by shade btw, you have to transfer one of those into your map using Insolence or Entity and that's what makes SLC go away.

One modder told me that when they did the cloning Predicted Resources and referencing them it didn't work, but yes you can meta fake and that should fix it. Also you can try the cloning predicted resources..never hurts to try.

So let me get this strait.
You can do anything you want to a map as long as you don't add something to one of these tags
biped
bloc
ctrl
eqip
garb
jpt!
mach
proj
scen
ssce
vehi
weap
However, this can be fixed by referancing the new tags in the perdicted rescources or metafaking.
Also, the map must have it's original name or the other box won't load it.
Reguarding the last point, is there any way to have the mainmenu on yours load a map that is just an edit of say zanzibar but you call it rabiznaz but tell the other xboxes to load zanzibar. Basically, is there any way to add you mods to the mainmenu without overwriting but have them be slc? If not do you think research into the topic could produce a way.

No, because the mainmenu would look for a file called rabiznaz.map, and for that .map file to work, it would have to have a scenario name of rabiznaz, which would prevent other xboxes from loading it, because the other xboxes wouldn't find a rabiznaz.map on their disk space.

do a search for shade45, he's got a plugin for insolence that makes this realy easy. and to add chunks w/ entity, resave the plugin as an ifp2 and put it in entity.
