modeling help plzzzzz!

Post by akamasta »

Ok so i followed the tut in the stickey on how to model and import. I over wrote all the files that are like [0][0]bla bla with my .obj then imported and added. But when i try and open it in the model viewer it gives me errors and when i opened my map in analyzer tool, i had 3 holes.
I don't know what i did wrong? Do i have to copy that mtl file that i have over the orginal? Wtf i don't know whats wrong

The way I heard it, it's supposed to have more vertices. Less than or equal to isn't enough.

ok now i've used a one with more vertices...in this order
Extract sentinal model
Edit with ac3d to make a chain gun model (Has more vertices by far)
then copy and paste that edited model over all the [0]blabla's
opened dm
opened sentinal beam.mode
imported and saved meta
clicked add to map, but not with the model viewer open. Is that nessisary?
Added the thing, renamed to blabla\sentinal_gun\chain_gun and switched sentinal_gun's hlmt mode dependecy to the chain gun
signed
started lev after ftp
froze at black screen of death

There's a problem with swapping modes in the hlmt tag, because the hlmt will go looking in the mode for all the markers. I don't know if DM preserves the markers.
I've never really done much model injecting because of its limitations so that's all I can really offer.
