A quick custom emblem question

Ok I'm trying to make a 1337 sauce emblem for halo 2, and I've gotten the background skins and done them, but I can't seem to extract the forground skins and have them work, I've used Ch2r and DotHalo, but neither one will let me extract the foreground emblems correctly. It extracts the emblem, and I go to open it in Photoshop and it says it could not open it because of "a problem with the file-format module interface." I remember watching a vid on someone doing a custom emblem, but cant find it on my computer or anywhere on Halomods or any other modding sites now, If anyone could help me or point me to the video it would be awesome. Thanks
