Spawning effes

Well, I did a search and it came to nothing (search engine here is useless). So here's my question:
How would I go about (the most efficient way) spawning effes? For example, to make a splashing effe like Greennc did in "Lost Temples."
Does it need to be a proj spawned or can I simply spawn the effe itself?

I don't think that an effe is an object, is it? It'd be like trying to spawn a mode or a phmo, I think :P

I would make a grenade that's explosion effect it changed to that effect and spawn the nade proj thru itmc.

Eh, that would work, but you should look into, like, fire, or something, y'know? The constant effect. Then just change that to how you want.

I like the fire idea. I'll look into that. Thanks.

Yes, I'm double posting. It's been 5 days, so get over it.
So I did the fire thing. Works great. Splash splash. Now I have some more questions.
Is there a way to change the size of an effe? Like, say I want a huge freakin' splash. (I'm using the rocket_explosion_liquid, by the way).
Is there a way to make it a continuous gushing rather than repeated splashes? Kind of like a geyser.
Also, once you get a certain distance from it, it doesn't show up. Any way to fix that?

Well to make it continus, I would use something like a sentinal beam thing to spawn it off of or make the spawns really short.

It's only one spawn. It's a fire scen with the effe switched out.

[edit] I've completely changed my method now. Instead of spawning a fire and swapping it's effe for a splash, I kept the fire effe and swapped some prt3's and pmov's. Here's the result so far:

So now the question is how do I edit the colors, 'cuz I don't think most of 'em are in the bitmaps. Like they're in the effe or prt3 or something somewhere.
