skinning new model question

I know we've said it's impossible, but I was thinking, why not move every single vertice of the model into its new position? could this preserve whatever they did to make the skins work? I've extended vertices before, and it seemed to work. does anyone know? thanks.

No one know much about the UVW maps, if you extended the vertices I am not sure what would happpen to it. I am really not sure but you may have given me a clue on how to edit the UVW's I will post back if I do but I highly highly doubt I did =P.

Edit: Well I think I might have found something,
Intresting? I would say so. This I am still unsure of what it does but I belive it relates to the uvw maps. =]
