I have the phantom in my map. It comes out of the rocket. When I shoot it, in about 3 seconds, the map freezes. Please help.

Alright. I can get in the phantom, but it freezes when I run into an object. Like the ground the side of the level. Any suggestions?

you can definitely fly the phantom. I've been working on this too. There's an sppf patch for a map someone made called psychoagulation or psycoagulation that has it in there. I'm in the process of figuring out which things they changed in insolence, but that's a hell of a lot of dependancies and attributes. I spawn my phantom on my map, and if my character actually points itself towards it, in about 3 seconds it freezes. I believe it does this when it starts to roll forwards, so you may want to try and swap it's phmo for the banshees. see if it helps.

n64nerd, ill try that. I have the same problem sometimes too. Sometimes I can get in it but if I hit something it freezes, and other times if i just look at it, it freezes in a couple seconds. If you find out anything more, let me know.

I'm kind of curious about the vehicle thing. What exactly is it about a phantom that would make it unflyable? I had just sort of thought you could turn anything into a vehicle by swapping it's hlmt, but I've got my own vehicle experiment that is currently going nowhere and I can't figure out why.

the phantom has its own unique flight feel. The flight controls, weight, and handling are all unique to the vehicle. However, the pelican has similar, if not the same, attributes. You could potentially switch hlmts and null out shaders, lens, cont, etc. but then the effects don't work. I'm going away for the weekend, so I can't do anything further until sunday. somebody transfer the phantom in psycoagulation to containment, play as an elite, and see if it works (elite fix, so I'm guessing that something in the map wasn't changed for mc).
