I added some modded maps to my mainmenu.map I was wondering if there was a way to add in pics for the new ones. Because when I go to choose the map there is just a white square and that doesn't look very good. Any ideas?

It's ok but umm I think there was another post on this recently it should still be on the first or second page of this thread so search a little bit and if you still can't find it (but you should) then ill try to help you. Sorry I dont know this off of the top of my head.

um i think in the map u added, in the scnr tag deppendencys, there is a bitmap of the map image.

I found a really cool pic of a program that would help everyone with this issue, but it does not seem that the guy is going to give a link to it. (reading the rest of the forum) The pic was posted by "limpmybizket" in the forum named "New maps main menu patch" on page 2 of "Halo 2 Modding General"

Thanx WaywornMmmmm I will look into that and try to find a program that makes pics into .dds files. I seen somthing about putting pics in as .dds files in a forum, but it did not say how. If you know how to do this let me know, because i have no clue as to how.

Do a search for a program called DXTBMP. It can convert various types of images into .dds(DXT1,3,5 and others).

But how do I in put them into the mainmenu.map as the pics for the specific levels?

You edit is instide the map i think, not in the mainmenu

If your using CH2R...
Open up you mainmenu.map file. Right click on globals/globals matg. Go to properties. Go to dependencies tab and just swap. If your bringing in a pic thats been altered, make sure you have it in the right format. If your using DotHalo, ADI, etc its basically the same thing..

Its in the Mainmenu.map? I would of thought the map pictuers would be in their respective maps because how would the DLC maps get their picture into the main menu on the CD?
