I was trying to figure out the same thing, so far there isnt a way to correctly map your weapon. Darkmatter doesnt store the uvw coords when u extract the model.Hopefully someone will figure out how to map them correctly sometime soon, lol.

See the problem is is getting the skin to sit correctly on the model. I made a model in max, then i uvw unwrapped it and then textured it in photoshop. I then injected the model into the game and replaced the original texture with my new texture. The thing is is that since darkmatter doesnt store the uvw mapping coords, then even my texture will look like crap ingame. The battlle rifle skin is applied the same way, except its mapping coords are stored somewhere in the .map, so its skins are always going to sit on the gun correctly. All that needs to be done tho to get it to work, would be to find out where the mapping coords are stored and overwrite those with the new mapping coords of the new model. Until then, all of the skins u put on a custom weapon will look like crap. Hope that all makes sense cause im not the best at explaining things, lol.
