Need help on a new mod, got a couple of q's

I'm making a new mod on zanzibar, and have run into a few obstacles.

I made the lightmap nearly pitch black, and have changed the sky to look like night. However, the water is still bright. If possible, I would like to just get rid of the water altogether, but don't know how to do that.

I've messed around with the weapons, and want to change their names, but don't know how to do that either.

I want to make the sword look a little more like the lightsaber, so basically I want to merge the two blades that make it up into one. Once again, I'm lost. I've tried editing bitmaps in photoshop, but that didn't change anything.

Sorry for the blast of questions, but I have a tendancy to finish as much as I can and save the questions for the end.

1. Water removal: no idea
2. Name Changing: Use a hex editor (hex workshop) and find the text string you need (example Picked up Brute Shot, you change that to Picked up Sweeto Gun).etc
3. Sword Editing: You need to change the base model using Gmax, 3ds max, or any other modeling program.

Thanks on number 2. For number 3, how do I get the model in and out of the map?

Number 2 doesnt work. It has to be less or equal in amount of characters

"Brute Shot" 10 characters
"Sweeto Gun" 10 characters

and use "Dark Matter" to extract and inject models.

Cool, thanks. I got all the weapons renamed, and now I'll try modelling. From the looks of it, changing the water won't be an easy task, so I guess it'll just have to look weird.

IF there is a shader for the water (I dont know, I never edited the water before) then you can simply null it out.

try editing this "scenarios\bitmaps\water\sky_00" bitmap by extracting it the using photoshop with the dds plugin to darken it if u darken that bitmap it may darken the water
