searched and searched but... (flying turret)

hi guys, i have been doing quite a bit of reading, and come up with some nice mods to share with my friends on xbc. recently i have been reading and reading about flying turrets, but cant seem to get it nailed down.
first i tried with ch2r, just went into the vehi tag, ticked flying, f-n crazy hog, and hog/banshee physics, then used speed/strife/turn ect. ect, values from a hog... when the turret comes out (charged bolt PP), its stationary just as if it were mounted on a hog.
next in dothalo, i tried swapping the meta with that of the banshee and ended up not being able to board the turret in any way shape or form from any angle/position.
now i am sure this was covered at some point somewhere on these forums, but i'll be damned if i can find it... if i havent searched every applicable forum at least 10 times, i havent looked at all. i am at my wits end here, any help would be much appreciated
