changing color of firing effect

changing color of firing effect

im trying to change the color of the firing effect
i.e im using the carbine and when i fire its green,also when i change the dependance around to different effects the new effect are still green!
if any body can help me out how to change the color i would very much appreciate it

fourm. people asking legit questions and no help, ive been dealing with this same promblem wouldnt it be nice if someone help us out!

i think that youll have to look through the bitmaps (probably "..../weapons/rifle/carbine....." or something) then your goin to want to export the dds and edit it using photoshop (need the dds plugin) and chage it to whatever color (you can take out all the saturation of the muzel flash then use layer with whatever color and make it overlay... probably will work) then save it as a .dds with photoshop and inject it back into the map...

but careful you have to sign shared.map because the bitmaps are external from the maps...

so

export
edit
inject
sign
open shared.map
sign
transfer both shared.map and whatever else
erase cache
load it up scotty

lol

it really has nothing to do with bitmaps, those just add texture to the contrails, use the contrail plug in h2x for editing colors
