new maps
new maps
no matter what i do, i cannot seem to mod the new maps. i tried patching the mainmenu.map file and that didnt work. i tried patching the default.xbe file, that didnt work. i just tried modding it, that didnt work. i used insolence, dothalo, and h2edit, and i tried using encrptomatic signature, but nothing i do seems to work. what am i doing wrong?
here's what i did to make it that i can mod the new maps
1. open up mainmenu.map in Dot halo
2. go to the "matg" tag and click on globals/globals
3. In the tag editor go to the multiplayer maps scroll down bar and go to 12 (or the first empty one)
4. then in the value section write any number that has not been used in previous maps for example 412
5. write the name of the map in the following 4 spaces Ex. Terminal
6. in description write a description for the map
7. For the scenario name section write scenarios\multi\mapname\mapname (EX. scenarios\multi\triplicate\triplicate
8. In the next value section write the same number you wrote in the first section
9.Save changes and then fix encryption
10. FTP to xbox
REMEMBER TO MAKE BACK UP FILES
now you can just mod the map and FTP it over
Edit* you also have to go under e\TDATA\*******64\then the $U folder and rename everything by putting a 2 at the end of it
