HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I have the new maps on my hard drive, and a modded xbox, i know how to ftp and stuff. Can I mod the new maps and keep the original new maps, so that i would this for example? Turf - modded. Turf - original.

You need to mod you main menu creating new map with new locations
EXAMPLE:

Real Name .MAP name
Turf-Modded Turfmod.map
Turf-Notmodded Turf.map


You would need to have two copies of turf on your HD one "Turfmod.map" and one "Turf.map"

do i have to have halo 2 on the hard drive to do this?
