I don't mean to be too rude as I know your a pretty ok guy mr detox, but still, what I hate most is when people allude to something that others don't have to give themselves a heightened sense of power over others... What makes it worse is that its in my thread. It also leads to people talking about that supposed non specific thing (in this case a tool) and thus makes my thread go offtopic, which I don't want...Unless you're going to actually say what the tool is, please do not post about it in here again please.

Which beleive me, would benifit your competition.

I gotten 2048x2048 but its not really worth it, it think 1024x1024 looked better

As I said previously, I don't want this competition thread to be derailed simply to discuss something that could be made in another thread... I don't want it here. But I will add the comment that I myself was attempting to work on it, I didn't get far, but at least this will help Chad and I with an old project. No more [/hypocrit]

The competition should start something like June 1st or maybe a bit earlier or later depending on how orsm I feel...

edit: detox I did not say you were going to use it for yourself once...I said it because I notice on this forum, people allude to something they have that not many other people do to gain some sort of power and e-cred over others to make themselves feel more special...I did not say that you were not going to release it or that you were going to use it for the competition on your own...Sorry for such a missconception :P

What map would you like the competition to use for skinning?
Turf, without any question. That level is totally customizable and begs for specific skins. There is no way people can skin this level and at the same time ignore a great attention to detail. Also, This level begs to be re-bumped  .

Do you think that past skinning comps have been too short? Too long?
The time frame you give people is a part of the competition. Either they make the best with what you give them or they don't. I was unable to properly pace myself and take advantage of the month I was given in the last contest, and have a still unreleased skin to show for it. I think the time frame is not important, just so long as it's not so short it intimidates people.

Do you think any of the rules should be changed? More strict? More lenient?
It's generally a bad idea to change rules. It confuses people and can help destroy peoples' confidence in the contest.

What are your general thoughts on the competition?
I have always wanted to do a skinning contest myself, so by you doing it instead, I can still enjoy it without having to put forth the work. I love it.

Do you think Faisal's winning streak is destined to end?
Yes, but it won't be easy. He's a great skinner, so if you plan on beating him, you need to do something amazing.

He got lucky this last time. I almost entered...

And ultimately, are you going to enter?
I would like to say I were, but I have hardly any time even to finish my skin from the last contest (I'll be done soon, Mr. Gee). Don't count on me, but sometimes I surprise even myself.

Oh, and for the High res skinning picture:

You're welcome for that texture. Please don't give it out as I'm still planning on using it. That one actually took a while to build. Also, how's the P8 resizing? 1024x1024 textures are great, but they need 1024x1024 bumps, if you know what I mean.

You're welcome for that texture.
Map choice, I completely agree with Tcmc. I have been meaning to skin turf for a while, but I haven't been motivated to do it. This will put me in the right mindset, as well as some T.I. =0
Tcmc, I am disappointed that you will not be able to enter. I was looking forward to you boosting the competition through the roof.
The high resolution texture is amazing by the way.

Meh I just thought you would maybe want the tool in your competition to even things out, because some people skin 256x256 not knowing how to change it, but HSM knows how, it would help even stuff out, and add to it all overall.

Yeah anyways Scotty's Right lets just take the tool's discussion out of here...

Anyways yeah shade, Chad made that texture, so cred to him.

And again, for the competition, I liked the pick a map and skin it idea, I hope its like that, I might enter then :)

Yea, I saw that two seconds after I posted and D'ohed.

I think there's an array of tools out there that deserve to be released, but people like to hide things from people for some reason... They say that "they won't know how to use it", or "they won't take advantage of it". Who cares? Release it anyways.
