Well, I booted up Yelo to see if the dpad+X thing did anything, and NONE of the controls worked anymore. I can't freeze time or anything. I guess I'll just have to face up to the truth: it won't work. I'll just have to settle for the UberScreenshotTool trainer for my camera needs.
