halo 2 modded map question

could i put modded maps on a cd and download them to xbox kinda like that one map pack you can buy but there modded?

I tried burning maps to a CD-R to transfer them, but no luck. It may work with other disks... Otherwise, FTP is the best option if you want to get them on your Xbox faster.
