needler effect bitmaps problems

I tried to skin the needles of the needler, and i succeeded in doing so, but when i fire, i had all this purple stuff. so i used turk's effect tut. but for some reason, this last bitmap i cannot find, as the pics are below. i would also like to know about the banshee, after the proj hits something, this little blue part comes up, like an effect, as seen below. i would also like to know how to get some other bitmaps to be the color i want, as seen below:
