Trouble with texture exporting

Trouble with texture exporting

I've got the mainmenu.map Halo 2 file here, and I'm trying to "mod" for the first time here. Specifically, trying to export the Elite model. So far I've been able to export the model itself with no problem, but the textures are coming out really funky... they seem different than they should, and the bumpmaps are refusing to export correctly.

I've been following this tutorial:

The bumpmaps are coming out looking like random pixils (like you'd expect to see if you messed up the bitmaps.map for HPC), and none of the extraction formats seem to support it.

This was the closest it's ever came:

The rest are either completely black, or worse, even more random than the image above.

I tried saving the textures in the P8 format and opening them in PhotoShop and I got the error:

Adobe Photoshop
(X) "Could not complete your request because of a problem with the file-format module interface."
[OK]

I also find it pretty wierd that the thumbnail and the actual preview look completely different.

Am I missing a plugin of some sort?

I apologize in advance for any noobishness or anything you might want to say "omfg lern 2 mod f-ing nub" to.

Try using Entity UE 1.6 to extract bump maps and stuff, works fine for me. =/
