I finally figured out how to mod original maps on my 360
I don't know if u guys know this or not but u can actually play modded original halo 2 maps on ur 360. But I figured this out on my own yesterday. I've had my 360 modded with the firmware hack for a while now, but I couldn't help wonder if I could make a halo 2 backup but with my modded maps on it. So what I did was I made a complete rip of Halo 2 with my 360. After that I started looking for iso tools that I could use to look at the iso. I looked about xbox-scene and found whats called ss patcher 1.5. What I did was open the iso with it, and looked in the maps folder, right clicked the map and clicked replace file with... so I hunted down my old modded maps that I haven't touched in a while and replaced them. It would seem like it would break the signature of the iso meaning it wouldn't work on the 360 since the 360 can't read unsigned code. But it acutally doesn't replace it, all it does it just change the map thats already in the iso to be identical to the modded one on my hdd. so after that I burned with clonecd and Vuala. Finally the 360 is perfect. Since it doesn't write over the map and break the signature that means we can see some early Halo 3 modding as well. Oh and trust me, the disc I made didn't have any modded multiplayer maps on it to cheat on xbl with, just single player.

No... Modding the old maps on a 360 Logically shows no way of being able to cheat. I assume you are reffering to live for cheating wise.leorimolo wrote:yes this is how you mod old maps on a 360. but you don't talk about this here because it leads to cheating. Same as TDATA moding.
First off, he won't even be able to get onto xbox live using the disc he has burned so there goes the OMG HE CAN CHEAT ON LIVE WIT TEH OLD MAPS phrase.
Second, Tdata maps are located in the TDATA FOLDER! NOT ON YOU HALO 2 DISC! OMGWTFBBQ YOU GO? Well sorry to burst your bubble but New maps are not on the disc which you should know... and if you did then how could he cheat with the tdata maps on live? Hmm let me think! Maybe if he had a sata connector to his computer he could! OMGWTFBBQ? BBQ BBQ? But he is not even talking about a Sata connector! YAY! He is only talking about playing a burned disc...
Get your facts straight before you post...

I'm not sure(haven't been keeping up with 360 news) but since the bios and anything other than the DVD drive firmware hasn't been changed, I think you can use it on Live....it's not the same as a modchip. Not that I'd recommend doing it(I've barely even played Live, let alone mod on it...)but I think you can play burned copies of games on Live(and if M$ can detect DVD firmware changes....then go ahead and shoot this post...).
