OK heres the deal i have an ether net cord coming into my computer to give me internet access...and i have a R-45 cord coming out of an 3c3sh654b card that i stuck into my computer...should i be able to connect my xbox up with this kind of connection?

Yeah, but all you have to do is enable internet connection sharing.

alright guys...thanx...but the answer was right infront of me...you cant use a cross over cable with a surf board modem...and i have a surf board modem...great...now i have to buy a router or a hub...thats fantastic.

Or you could buy a regular patch cable for 5 times less, but I'd go with the router =).

Note for future reference...

Patch Cables connect to / from a hub/router to a pc or XB

Crossover cables connect pc to pc or xbox to xbox or xbox to pc directly without a hub.

the only difference is the way thiier wired...
