Halo2 Multiplayer mods don't work!

Post by Sweenerdog32 »

Hi,
Sorry for all these posts, i'm new to this. Anyway, when I try to mod a multiplayer map, i ppf/serenity it, then i resign it. When i go to play the mod, i play a different map first, then i play the modded one. When playing, the mod has no effect. So far i have tried with Spell Shade 1.0, Foundation domination and Alternate Halo 2 Zanzibar.

I can mod singleplayer maps and they work.

Is there something i'm not doing?

Any help would be great,

Do the levels fail to load? Are you putting them in the halo 2 map directory. You sure you are copying and pasting the modded map into the directory? Is the map renamed from its orignal name like coagulation.map to funcoagulation.map . We need more details!!!

Yes, the map must be named the same thing as the unmodded. When you ftp, you should have to overwrite the old one.

The map runs fine, the mod just dosen't work. Do i have to have 2 copies of the map, or can i use the same one in serenity?

Do you put the map in the map folder on the xbox hard drive?
I've done everything right (i think) and really would like some help to get it up and running

You should already have two copies, you should always keep a backup file with all of your maps and shared files in it. Anyway, you can't be putting the modded map in there if it runs normally. Check you root directory, if you haven't told serenity to place the maps anywhere in particular, but have instead left it as this... \'map'.map It's going to place the map in C:

If you don't know how to search here, go to my computer and click on local disk. Look in there, not in any of the files, but in that directory. You could also search by going to your address bar in firefox/Internet explorer and typing C:

Output, the source is the regular map, the output is what it has once it applies the serinity. It works just like ppf o matic, pretty much the same, except you don't have to make a copy of the original when you mod it. Anyway, use the output.

Your PPF's might be single player PPF's... I know that you can edit Multiplayer and Single Player MC's and Elites in DotHalo. Try opening the map in DotHalo and see what's wrong. PM if you have questions.
